Shredding Terminology

100% Jamproof Auto-stops the shredder when too much paper is inserted. This prevents overloads, which cause paper jams.

Safesense Automatically stops the shredder when touched, ensuring ultimate safety.

Microshred Shreds 1 piece of A4 paper into 3898 pieces, ensuring the highest level security is achieved.

Turbo Jam Release Powers through paper jams quickly and easily

Auto-stop on jamming Terminates the shredding process when excess sheets are fed through the shredder, preventing shredder damage.

Daily Usage Based on an expected average to show a capacity range for the shredder.

DIN Level Shows the security level of the shredder: grouped by 5 classifications from general security (DIN 1) to top secret (DIN 4).

Electronic auto-start This auto-start functions when a sheet is passed through a beam of light, further reducing the risk of jamming.

Mechanical auto-start This auto-start functions when a sheet of paper triggers a micro-switch, which starts the shredding process and maximises ease of use.

Duty Cycle The recommended time a shredder can be used (at capacity) before the Thermal Overload Protection functions. The shredder will then enter a cooling down period or off cycle (this is normal).

Continues Duty Shredding For the disposal of large volumes of paper, Ideal for multiple users, it ensures an effecient shredding process & eliminates downtime.

Auto Oil Automatically lubricates the cutting mechanism whilst the shredder is in use. A clean and simple way of maintaining the shredders performance.

Noise level at capacity The amount of noise produced by the shredder (in decibels) whilst in use at full sheet capacity.

Reverse An essential function to permit easy removal of excess material.

Sheet capacity Number of sheets that can be fed into a shredder in one go. This value is calculated using 70gsm A4 paper.

Shred speed The average speed paper is fed through the shredder, measured in metres per minute.

Thermal Overload Protection Protects the shredder motor from overheating and lengthens the product life.

Throat width The throat or entry width of the opening into which the paper is fed. This determines the size of the paper that can be used without folding it.
